Toddler House and Preschool
Toddler House and Preschool is a certified Montessori program for children who are walking to 6 years of age. Nestled in a private Northeast Portland home, we work alongside with each young child’s family to nurture the child’s intellectual, social, physical and emotional development. Our program is specially designed to help children comfortably transition from home life to a school setting.
We practice Montessori education, viewing all children as unique individuals. In our classroom environment, we customize our program to your child’s specific needs while fostering skills, education and exploration. All the while, we maintain a sense of harmony, independence and community.
Toddler House is a member of the Oregon Montessori Association.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Montessori Method of Education was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 1900s. It is as relevant today as it was 100 years ago. Observing that young children ideally learn and develop skills through hands-on activity, she designed special equipment to enrich language, fine and gross motor skills and conceptual understanding. Through this method, children discover joy in learning, concentration, independence and inner peace.

I do, I understand”
